It wouldn't shock me. If it is true, it just sucks they have to market them one way to make the most money vs just letting them be who they want.
I mean I totally get it, Hell, when I was 5 I was madly in love with George Michael. He was my "husband" when I would call backstage on my Snow White play phone. We all know how that turned out.

not to make this all serious...but it kind of sucks that such focus is being put into trying to out them. I'm sure they struggle enough having every move watched and scrutinized. must be so hard to be a young gay boy in the public eye.

I think just about every boy band has had a gay member in it that had to stay in the closet during the most successful part of their career. It kind of just goes with the territory and when the fans are young, they don't see it. Let the teen girls have their fantasy.
The video is so melodramatic about it all. Eventually when their star has faded the "gay" members of One Direction will come out and write a book or whatever in a few years when no one cares.

My niece is OBSESSED with 1D. And by obsessed I mean, she runs a fan club. She's 12 and I don't think she would be devastated if it turned out 2 of the members would be gay. She's already passed comments about the rumor & it's a non issue for her. She knows she doesn't have a shot with them.
They'll come out when they need more money, or they are reuniting for a tour and need the publicity, etc. it's the nature of the Beast. Happened with Lance Bass, Jordan Knight. Well, maybe not Jordan. I think Tiffany outed him accidentally on WWHL one night.
