epidurals/spinal blocks
Do they numb your back with anything before they do the epidural/spinal block? I dont like needles and I dont want to feel a big needle. Im nervous about this!

Honestly, compared to the PAIN from the contractions.. this was the most pleasant part !!!

ITA!!! I don't even remember if they numbed the area but honestly, I had needles of novicane at the dentist that were worse than the epidural! It's a god send!!

i agree with the above ladies. my contractions bad so that if there was a needle, i didn't even notice because the relief was so sweet!

Yes, they numb it where they are going to put the needle in, I didn't feel anything.
