Estate Sales

Does anyone go to these? If so, what is the best ways that you find out about them? I am having one this weekend for my dads house and I am looking for ideas on how to get the word out..

Newsday?
Craigslist?
Signs?
anything else?

Definitely both Craigslist & signs. It's free, so no reason not to. Chat Icon

I go to sales all the time & I look on Craigslist & get emails for sales that are run by a few companies.

Estate sales and Tag sales are usually the contents of an entire home (indoors). So you walk through the home & everything visible is for sale, furniture, rugs, kitchen stuff, tables, chairs, electronics, clothes, holiday stuff, various collections of things...you name it. Sometimes 1 or 2 rooms will be closed off with stuff not for sale.

I prefer estate/tag sales over garage sales because it tends to be a better selection of stuff since it's everything in a home vs. random stuff people just don't want or can't fit in their home anymore.

I thought these people ran the sales? Meaning you pay them to price the stuff out and be there on the day of the sale dealing with all the people. I have been to sales run by them it sounds like a great idea but I am already having a hard time knowing that all these people are going to be walking through the house and taking his stuff I don't think I could let someone else run it KWIM.
