Estimated price of redoing a bathroom?

Anyone know? I'm talking total rip out and redo. I'm guessing $10k and over?

Re: Estimated price of redoing a bathroom?

I think depends on the materials...are you thinking marble and custom cabinets, walls removed, new jacuzzi-bling bling-tub, fancy shower, etc. Or basic bath, maybe just a shower in it? It can really vary. I think the plumbing is a huge ordeal too. Are thinking of retooling everything and switching it around? That will add up quick.

I would think maybe less for an existing bath? Provided you don't go completely nuts with upgrades, etc.

We may install a 2nd bath down the road, and I'm hearing the price will be about 10-12k, for everything, but the room has no plumbing right now at all - it's a storage room.

My girlfriend re-did hers and it was about 9-10K. New tub, sink, toilet, floor/partial wall tiles, shower doors, painting etc

Well worth it, cause the original was Chat Icon Chat Icon !!!!

friends of ours just did it, for 5100. Sometimes its better if you buy all your fixtures instead of getting them thru the contractor

we bought everything at home depot- stock. nothing is fancy but it looks new and well worth the cost..it put in fancy "accesories" to make it look "richer"
at the end of the day it cost us around 5500

Re: Estimated price of redoing a bathroom?

I got a flyer from a contractor saying $6K for a rip out - probably not top of the line, but it was tile - not those plastic tub inserts

Re: Estimated price of redoing a bathroom?

My parents redid theirs. Ripped everything out. Moved pipes around so instead of the toilet being right next to the door and the vanity in between the shower and tub (in most levit houses Chat Icon) they moved it. So the toilet is in between. They had a problem with water getting out of the tub and the wood rotting Chat Icon, Tilled half way up the walls and all the way up the shower and tiled the floor.

It was 10K

Re: Estimated price of redoing a bathroom?

It totally depends on what you put in. I think the cost of labor for a standard faucet or a fancy faucet is the same.
