Etiqutte question about gift cards on registry
I finally figured out how to add gift cards to my BBB registry.
The thing is, I have to select the denomination I want, and the amount of gift cards I want. This is a little weird to me in trying to figure out how to add to the registry when just trying to give people the option to just get a gift card. The denominations are $25, $50, $100 and $200.
So, I added $25, $50 and $100 and for the amount of gift cards, I put in "99", figuring that shows that I HAD to put an amount in there, and I don't want the item to come up as fulfilled if a lot of people buy gift cards. KWIM?
Do you think there might be a better way to do it?

Re: Etiqutte question about gift cards on registry
instead of choosing the denominations, which i think could be perceived as rude, is there a way just to make a notation somewhere on the registery that "gift cards are welcomed." that way, people will know you want them, but you're not telling them how much to spend.

there is no way to do that-- I need to select which gift card denomination, and how many I want. That is the only way I could find how to add. That's why I am concerned as to how it shows up.

Re: Etiqutte question about gift cards on registry
yeah I thought it was wierd too, so I just left them off. I figured I had enough stuff on the registry and those who didn't have time to shop would just get a gift card...and they did. I got plenty of them.

I think it's tacky to add GCs to a registry (imho, of course). You will get a TON of gift cards even after the baby is born. I don't think it's necessary to add that.

Re: Etiqutte question about gift cards on registry
what i did was add ONE $25 gift card. Let people make what they will of it - but i didn't want to do HIGH denominations - ya know?

Re: Etiqutte question about gift cards on registry
A friend of mine put in I think 10 or 20 of each denomination. I didn't think it looks rude at all.

Re: Etiqutte question about gift cards on registry
I just asked my mom and she didn't really "get" that 99 just was a # I put in there to basically have it be limitless.
I think I'll just change it to 10 of each and call it a day... People can figure out that I just added it to show I am accepting gift cards.

Re: Etiqutte question about gift cards on registry
is there an option for a welcome message or "message from the parents" or something like that? i know bru has this, but i haven't looked into it for bbb. you can always mention "giftcards are welcomed" in there...
