Euros
When you go to Europe - do you like to go with some Euroes in your wallet? If so, where do you get them - anywhere not in the city?

Re: Euros
We usually switch about $50 worth to euros at the airport so we have $ for cabs etc and tipping when checking into the hotel.
Then we would prob look around and see where the best exchange rate is. There are plenty of money exchanges places, banks. You can even do it at the airpt where ever youre going or train station

Re: Euros
I exchange at the American Express on Old Country Road. It is right near Roosevelt Field Mall. I like going abroad with a bit of cash just in case something pops up.

Re: Euros
On our last trip, we got some from the ATM during a layover in Paris. We wanted to have cash for the taxi and just so we didn't have to worry about finding an ATM when we got in (we did all ATM, no currency exchange).

Re: Euros
I switched them at the airport before I boarded the plane so I had some as soon as I arrived.
Have a great trip!

Re: Euros
I went with 100 Euros which I got at the bank...they had to order them for me. There are places to exchange money at the airports too!

Re: Euros
I usually do $100 worth here in the US, and then convert the rest at the airport in Europe or I visit a bank over there to convert the rest of the currency.
I should add - I always used traveler's checks, so if the cash gets misplaced, I'm not scr*wed for $$$ to convert.
I also use my credit card as often as possible b/c the exchange rate was bette.r

Re: Euros
If I don't have any from a previous trip, I don't get them until I get over there....
unless you are landing in No Mans Land, there are ATMS at every airport that you can take money out before you get to a cab.
I HATE changing money, here, there, or anywhere. it's so expensive. not worth it.
as long as you have credit/debit cards for anything crazy, you should be fine.
