Evenflo Triumph car seat users....come in please
Please explain to me how to loosen the straps....DH used it the first time today and almost threw it into the garbage after DD freaking out at the straps being so tight. He had to stay put and wait for me to come pick her up. Please explain how to use it before I throw it at DH's head!! Thanks!

I have to ask my DH and he's at work right now. If I remember correctly, you use the yellow knobs on the side of the car seat. If you turn one way, they tighten but I think you press something on that yellow knob to release the straps. (We have th Triumph Premium, I am assuming it's similar or the same as yours).

Thanks. I see that in the instructions that is says to push down on the yellow tab to loosen but when I do it it makes it a little looser but then seems tighter in the area I have to snap in the bottom.

you turn and hold the yellow knob towards the back of the seat and then you pull the right bottom strap.. hope that makes sense and helps

Re: Evenflo Triumph car seat users....come in please
Okay I tried pulling it from the bottom right like you said. That loosened it. BUT...the issue I can't figure out, is I'm not getting enough slack on the top straps that go over her chest...does that make any sense? The double straps that go over her chest when I tighten them it's too tight on one of them and then the double part underneath is loose. Sorry if I make no sense, but this is driving me nuts!!!

Do you have the car seat in the car? If you do, it's probably worth taking it out so you can see everything. We've always done all major adjustments in the living room.
I got what you said about one part of the strap being tight and the double part being loose. I thought they fed into one another so that you could balance out the slack. Maybe I'm confused.

It's in our guest bedroom...and we are using her life size Elmo in it . DH is starting to boycott this car seat. I wonder if BRU will give us store credit.

Darn....I was hoping that you had it in the car and that taking it out would clear things up.....wishful thinking on my part. Do you still have the box? I suppose you could try to return it.
We like the car seat. We have 2.

Re: Evenflo Triumph car seat users....come in please
Once I got the hang of this carseat, I absolutely loved it, and I still love it to this day. The get the top part to loosen, you need to loosen the straps from the bottom, then pull the snap part for across the chest out towards you, it'll take out some of the slack from the bottom and add slack to the top (if that makes sense). Then you can just adjust the top part again. Play around with it a little more. It really is an awesome carseat.

Actually, what works best for me, is to push the tab thing then pull UP, not OUT like the infant seat.
ETS: Also, I always pull when it is still snapped together (the plastic snap thing, not the crotch snaps).

Okay I am going to give it a try again tomorrow. So many people say it's a great car seat...maybe we are just car seat challenged.
