Evening weddings, always a gown?
I know this may sound dumb. But do you always wear a floor length gown to an evening wedding, or can you get away with tea-length?
It's a Huuuuge wedding at Flowerfield...

I tend to wear gowns only because I love an excuse to wear one, but you can totally wear a shorter dress to an evening wedding. Most people do these days.

Re: Evening weddings, always a gown?
If it is a HUGE wedding, I would be more inclined to wear a gown. For a smaller evening wedding. I would be comfortable with tea length.

I honestly don't think it matters? Maybe if the invite says Black Tie I would.

Re: Evening weddings, always a gown?
I went to a Black-tie Wedding at Gotham Hall recently and I wore a Cocktail dress. Like you, I wasn't sure if I should wear a gown, and b/c I couldn't find one that fit me nicely, I went with the cocktail. I was glad to see a lot of women wearing all types of dresses, from Cocktail dresses to Gowns. I didn't feel out of place.

Re: Evening weddings, always a gown?
I went to a wedding(sat night) in November at Flowerfields and wore a T length. Actually most of the girls that were there did too.

A little off-topic, but how was the wedding at Gotham Hall? We almost got married there.

I wear whatever-- I think as long as you look appropriate-- there is a lot of flexibility for us chicks.

Re: Evening weddings, always a gown?
I rarely see women especially in the 20-30s) age range) wear full length gowns to evening weddings.
A few people wore skirts to my Saturday evening wedding--and I have one friend who wore the same skirt & twinset to a few wedding.
I usually wear soemthing that should probably be knee legnth, but look tea-length on me.

Re: Evening weddings, always a gown?
I'm usually in cocktail length for weddings...black tie or not. I just don't like myself in long gowns.
If it's more casual, I'll wear a print, and dressier, I tend to stick with dark colors.

Re: Evening weddings, always a gown?
Black tie or not I'd wear whatever looks better on you. I had girls wears black cocktail dresses to my wedding (at Flowerfield) and girls that wore gowns. I think you can go either way
