Ever get scared of taking too many pills?
Sometimes I worry that I take too many pills. I just took my diabetes medication, an antiobiotic, and 2 aleve for a terrible headache. All that medication just cant be good for my body.

Yes, I take a bunch of meds..everytime my doc wants to give me another I veto it.

It isn't. It is very bad for your liver, and Aleve is terrible for your kidneys.

I'm not crazy about taking anything, not even alot of vitamins but if you are taking all these pills for different symtoms, I am sure you will be ok. Just try not to make it too much of habit I guess.

I usually try to avoid medication for minor pain, but this headache is killing me. It doesnt help that I have no sick days, so I cant go home and sleep it off.

I didnt mean to scare you. I just re-read my post. Just be careful when taking anything with Neproxen. it is terrible for your liver and kidneys.

Awww. 
I'm sure it's not great for your body- but at least the antibiotic and the alleve are temporary.

I KWYM, I feel like I am a drug store sometimes. I have my oral diabetic meds, plus my injections, prenatal vitamin, folic acid. My DH doesn't understand why I won't take a tylenol when I have pain. I feel like I have so much already in my system.

Once in awhile it's ok. Talk to your doctor if you have concerns about what you're taking. I take a LOT of pills for my allergies, and I was concerned about my liver, but then my doctor told me that those drugs don't even get processed through the liver.
I used to take Aleve every day.
Just drink a lot of water and keep just taking it only as needed!

aleeve is strong it says one every 12 hours please don't exceed that ...

This headache has me on the verge of tears, its so bad. Then I worry myself to death that its due to my diabetes. I'm my symptoms dont kill me, my stress will.

yes, it's terrible for your liver. My grandmother died from cirrhosis of the liver and she never drank....she took many pills every day for her entire life (she was a bit of a hypocondriac).

You can take 2 aleve at once..or follow the first oen 45 minutes later if one doesn't work.

oh please don't make yourself crazy .. talk to your Dr. explain your fears and that you are nervous about all the meds!

No, but I dont suffer from headaches often. Its everything else. Sometimes I feel dizzy, I'll worry that its the diabetes. Or I'll have an upset stomach, I'll think its the diabetes. If I'm overly exhausted or sleepy...... If I cant fall asleep. You name, I worry myself to death about it, thinking it might be because my sugar is too high or too low. Its my own fault.

Diva, I hope you feel better!
I'm sorry you have to take so much. I worry about pills too and only take them when I absolutely have to. Have you ever tried drinking caffeinated coffee for your headaches? It worked like a charm for my Dad, he had debilitating headaches for a long time.
I think our society has become so accepting of drug prescriptions that doctors don't even try to suggest lifestyle changes that would negate the need for pills.
Like acid reflux. I have had it for years. I was prescribed Prevacid and took it for a year. I also have problems with asthma from time to time and have an inhaler.
When I went to a new doc for refills on both, he suggested other options like what foods/drinks to avoid, exercise, not reclining after I eat, not eating so close to dinner, eating smaller meals more often, etc. Believe it or not, overeating/reflux was bringing on asthmatic wheezing.
So I changed a lot of things I did and ate, and I've been prevacid and acid reflux free for 4 years. If the doctors don't want to invest the time to find the root cause and fix it without drugs, then I just have to I guess.
