Ever go to visit someone in the hospital and there is someone else in the room who gets no visitors?
This is the way it is where my Grandma is. Our family is constantly there with her and there is this nice lady who is very with it who gets no visitors at all...really break my heart. Now we visit and talk with her too so she doesn't feel lonely. This woman is kind of like my Grandma's guardian angel because she has been watching my Grandma when we aren't there.

That is so sad ... but ... so kind and considerate of your family to include her in your visits. Kudos to all of you!!!!!

This seems to happen to every roomate of any of my relatives in a hospital. My mom was in rehab this year after the broke her pelvis & her roomate's only visitors were her parents. Her DH never came to visit. My mom had someone with her almost all day everyday. My mom actually became friends with the lady. They still talk on the phone.

It is so sad...It always seemed to happen to us too...We use to always go & talk to them also...
Even when my Grandma went to rehab, there was a man there that was just the sweetest. No one in his family came to see him. My mom & I use to sit with him & my grandma just so he could have some conversation. Once my grandma passed away, my mom & I still went back to see him on a weekly basis....

When my son was in the hospital last year he had a roommate who was about 12-13 years old. In the 2 1/2 days we were there 1 person came to see him for a total of 3 minutes

Yes, my grandfather had this "roomate" while he was there, We never saw anyone in ther with him. Grandpa said he never saw people, so when we would go we would bring him lunch too (no restricted diet...we asked)and flowers. It was very sad but made him happy.

I work in a hospital, so I see this all the time... It's so sad. I always walk them and put them in chairs and they are always like "What am I supposed to do now?" I always sit and talk to them for a few minutes, b/c I hate seeing them like that
