Everything is smaller an the price is either the same or more than it used to be.

It's getting scary. Everytime you turn around someone is adding a "fuel charge" to a bill or shrinking packages like the story above shows.
We're only a family of 2 and it's hard for us, I don't know how bigger families do it these days.

Yes, and our condo association thought it would be a good time to redo the parking lot (that does NOT need to be redone... My DH is an engineer and is  over whey they are doing it). This is resulting in a 2-year assessment that will raise our maintenance 20%. 
I think we're going to pay the assessment up front -- In the event we have to sell, at least our common charges will be lower.

and with a 13-yo at home for the summer with an insatiable appetite, it hurts!
i might have to turn to growing my own food!

Exactly.
I notice this the most on cereal, yogart & ice cream. This is why I try to only buy things on sale.
