Ex-Creed rocker arrested in West Boca on domestic assault charge

The former front man for the rock band Creed was arrested today for domestic assault in his $4.9 million home on Long Lake Estates, Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office said.

Scott Stapp, 33, was charged with domestic assault, sheriff's spokesman Paul Miller said.

No one was injured in the incident at the home he co-owns with his wife, former Miss New York Jaclyn Nesheiwat. But there was evidence of assault in the house in the 8800 block of Twin Lake Drive, Miller said.

Sheriff's officials did not have more details.

Stapp was being held at Palm Beach County Jail. His first appearance in court is expected Monday.

Stapp marrried Nesheiwat in 2006, according to People Magazine. The couple exchanged vows at the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, an estate on the waterfront of Biscayne Bay in Miami.

The rocker founded Creed and won a Grammy Award in 2000 for the song With Arms Wide Open. He went out on his own last year with the solo album, The Great Divide.

Nesheiwat is the director of public affairs for the Scott Stapp Foundation, which promotes healthy parent-child relationships, People Magazine reported.
