Re: excruciating back pain
So sorry to hear about your back pain.
I had the same thing back at the end of May. I found that moving around actually helped me. When I sat for a long period of time, it hurt worse. SOmetimes I just had to push through it. I called the doctor and was told there really was nothing that could be done for it.
Have you called your doctor?
I hope this goes away for you soon. The baby may be laying on your sciatic nerve.

Re: excruciating back pain
I'm so sorry....
I know how back pain can be. I'm dealing with it right now and the docs are no help. I would say to limit your bending but try to move around every so often during the day, especially if your job is sedentary or if you are home. Light stretching might help with a body band or something. Feel better

Re: excruciating back pain
I had about 1 1/2 months of really bad lower back pain when I was in the 20's (weeks wise). I actually found it hard to walk at times the pain was so bad. I was very surprised that it went away as I got bigger! But it did... I hope that gives you some hope! Good luck!
edited for spelling...

I thought mine couldn't be the nerve at first because the pain didn't go down my leg. I was told it was.
For me, the pain was so severe that my leg would sometimes buckle under me with certain steps I took (never fell, though) and it would take my breath away. Rolling over in bed at night was horrible.
The good news was that after 1 week, the pain went away. I guess the baby moved. I will think "move baby" thoughts for you! Feel better and what helped me was realizing what movements really made it hurt and not moving that way!!!

Re: excruciating back pain
I'm right there with you!!!!!
I have to say that the thing that helped the most was the ice pack, NO HEAT!!!
I also go to acupucture and I think it helped, and she gave me some stretching excersices. They have helped tremendously.
Try doing the cat stretch, and also lay down and try to put your knee up to your chest...try.
I feel your pain..literally!!!
Feel better

Re: excruciating back pain
In my yoga, they say to get on all 4 (like a cat) and just move around - or circles with your hips. This should help get the baby off the back and hopefully reduce the strain on the back.

Re: excruciating back pain
I had horrible back pain a couple of weeks ago also. I thought for sure it was never going to go away, but after a couple of weeks of it, my back only hurts once in a while. I could not find anything that worked, I even went for a massage and that really did not alleviate the pain. Hopefully it will go away soon for you
