Exercise/diet and TTC
What has everyone read/been told by dr. and doing about diet and exercise while TTC? Here's my situation quickly...about 5 years ago I lost about 75 lbs. on WW. I have kept the weight off for 5 years and continue to watch/count calories (i eat about 1,000 cal during the week and splurge a bit on sat and sun) and exercise regularly (3-4X per week for at least 1 hr). I have heard mixed reviews about how to handle this when TTC. Some have said continue as normal and others have said and I have read that I should eat more calories and cut back on exercise (esp. that which increases heartrate) when TTC. Im not sure what to do and i am sooooooooooooo scared to put weight back on unessecarily while TTC.

Re: Exercise/diet and TTC
I am terrifed of gaining weight while pregnant. I'm not sure about calories while TTC, but I'm pretty sure you can still exercize. I told my Dr. I eat about 1200/day now and he seemed fine with it. He didn't tell me to increase while TTC at all.
Then if you are exercizing before pregnancy you can continue with modifications while pregnant.
They say you only need to add 300 calories while pregnant, but it really depends on how much you are eating beforehand. You need to eat about 1500-1800 calories while pregnant and you have to eat carbs to avoid ketosis. It can be good carbs, of course.

If you have been exercising then continue. They only say to watch exercise is if you are starting a new routine.
Exercise will help in TTC unless it is to an extreme where it effects your cycles. Plus they say the better shape you are in the easier labor is.

I read this too. You can also eat almost anything you want as well. Although I read you can eat almost everything I have stopped eating sushi (although it is one of my fav). as well as spender. I also only drink one cup of coffee a day.
I also read somewhere and have friends who experienced that when they cut down or out diet soda and spender they got preg.

My Dr told me to continue my lifestyle. Since I lead a pretty healthy one I only cut out sweeteners...but I still drink wine and eat everything I did before.
People get pregnant doing a lot of bad things so I figure my diet and exercise isnt hurting me

I actually cut out splenda and artificial sweetners last year. I had a lot of stomach/abdominal problems...was hospitalized for over a week and they found "nothing" wrong. Anyway...my dad suggested i cut out splenda (i used a lot) and almost all my sypmtoms went away....things like breakouts, issues with AF and more. I dont know 100% it was bc of splenda but i dont use anything at all just to be safe.

Re: Exercise/diet and TTC
well first of all congrats on loosing and keeping it off! secondly i had a MC in January and I had gained 30 lbs from the last pregnancy. I asked my doc if its ok to diet/exercise and he said that it is fine as long as you dont go crazy. Since he told me that I stopped going t othe Gym everyday including weekends and i dont push myself...I lost some of the weight but TTC is more important to me so I lessoned it. You can still continue to work out.
