Exercising at different times throughout the day?

Isn't it best to do your exercise routine all at the same time or is it ok and not make a difference if you do it at several times throughout the day? I always thought and felt that you HAVE to do it at the same time to get the best results and that doing some here and some there doesn't do anything at all? WDYT? Thanks!

ETA: For example if I need to do a 30 min. workout today, should I do all 30 min. all together or do 10 min here and 10 min. there, etc.?

are you talking weights? cardio?

I'm pretty sure that I have read that 3 10 minute cardio session is as effective as 1 30 min cardio session. However, if you are trying to build your endurance this would not apply.

I wouldnt do weights separately because I feel like it might not be as productive. (I dont know this for sure, but just a hunch.) Cardio I think you can separate it as long as you arent working on endurance!
