Re: Exercising while pregnant
I think that if you were exercising beforehand, then, you could continue during pregnancy. I know many people who continued running while pregnant.

Re: Exercising while pregnant
They basically told me to continue what I was doing. They tell you to drop your intensity a bit. I know doctors say not to START if you haven't been exercising.

Re: Exercising while pregnant
Nothing.... I was put on pelvic rest for awhile in the beginning and was told not to exercise. I asked if I could exercise when I came off and they told me walking only. Since I commute to NYC and work long hours I have no time to exercise so I try to walk as much as I can in the city and take stairs. I guess I am not doing so bad though since I have only gained 7lbs so far and I am 28 weeks.
I cant wait to start exercising again though after the baby comes!

Re: Exercising while pregnant
I taught dance classes my entire pregnancy. My Dr. didn't think there was any chance I'd make it to my due date. I wound up teaching until the day before my induction- and that was 6 days past my due date!

Re: Exercising while pregnant
I think that you can probably continue everything but the kickboxing, and I would take it easy with the running. However, I used to do pilates and I had some spotting after one class so I stopped exercising. I just started a routine again but my doctor told me to avoid any abs related exercises.

Re: Exercising while pregnant
Unless you exercised regularly before getting pregnant, I would not start now. Either way, talk to your doctor before beginning any type of exercise regime.

Re: Exercising while pregnant
Sadly, no, and I did exercise regularly before becoming pregnant. During the 1st trimester, I was too exhausted most of the time. Now, I have more energy, but I really have trouble fitting it in--I've been having insomnia problems and can't seem to get it in during the morning or later in the day.
When I do exercise, I have been doing prenatal yoga or walking. Since I got out of shape dring the 1st tri, these work for me now.
Definitely talk to your doctor before beginning anything, but I think most approve of walking and swimming.

Re: Exercising while pregnant
I haven't excersised regularly.. but due to my weight gain I started to.
I try to take it easy, 30 minutes on stair master, and than 20 minute cycling or something.. is that too much?
Am I not suppose to??? Im emailing my dr. now!
