Expanded ranch
What exactly does this mean? I know some of the houses we have looked at have had a second floor added, but does this just mean the original house was added on to? Does it always mean expanded above the first floor or is this just some generic term that says some addition was made?

Re: Expanded ranch
We have an expanded Ranch. You can't tell from the front. But you can see the addition in the back. I think the owners previous to the owners we bought from (or even another owner back) put the dormer on. We have 4 bedrooms 3.5 baths. Two bedrooms including the master bedroom/bath on the main floor, and another full bath. On the second floor we have another two bedrooms and a bath, plus a HUGE walk in attic which we could probably make another 3 rooms out of.
Here's a picture of the back from the MLS listing
This is a picture of the front, but you can't see much because of the trees.

Re: Expanded ranch
I don't know what the term is supposed to mean, but in our househunting we've seen homes advertised as expanded ranches that had an add on at the back of the house, ususally a family room.
