Experienced moms!
ok has this happened to anyone?
DD is almost 4months. she has been sleeping through the night since 2 months. the past 1 1/2 weeks she has been waking up around 330 am and is VERY hungry. I called the dr. they said it may be a growth spurt BUT they also think shes ready for cereal. so i started it yesterday and she still woke last night for a feeding.
My fear is that is isnt going to sleep through the night bc she going to get used to the night feeding......
Does it take a while for the cereal to kick in and her sleep the night again? TIA

Re: Experienced moms!
I don't think the cereal has anything to do with sleeping through the night! My DH still didn't for months after he started cereal. It could be from teething, he was wet, etc.

Re: Experienced moms!
Are you FF or BF? If you're FF, I'd up the amount in her last bottle of the night and try a cereal feeding right before bed too.

Re: Experienced moms!
cereal made no difference with my baby. sometimes he just wakes up hungry for a quick feeding.

Re: Experienced moms!
I used to load Jared up with formula and barley. I wouldn't put them together in the bottle thought and he slept great for me...

Re: Experienced moms!
This will happen from time to time with a growth spurt. At that age, if Ava needed to eat in the middle of the night for a week here and there, I just fed her. Nothing else would help, adn she was on cereal for a month at that point. Maybe try increasing the oz. during the day, along with the cereal, but it's a long stretch at night for those little bellies. It won't last forever!

Re: Experienced moms!
We went through this phase around 4 or 5 months...and I was worried that I would cause a bad habit by feeding her in the middle of the night. After a week or so...it stopped, and she went back to sleeping through the night.
Good luck

Re: Experienced moms!
I went through this too, same time as you! It was a growth spurt and he needed more formula...I upped his bedtime bottle by 2 more ounces and it worked..

Re: Experienced moms!
Cereal didn't really make a difference for Steven, but it is not unheard of.
I know that for Steven, if he wakes up hungry at night a few times, he does not make a habit of it.
