I don't know too much about it, but I found this thread for you that seemed to have a lot of info.

Re: external version
My SIL attempted to have this done a couple of weeks ago. It was not successful and she said it was very paiful. She just had her c section on Friday at almost 39 weeks. I would read up on it and the risks as well as the success rate. It's usually 50-50. Good Luck.

Re: external version
My friend had one that was unsuccessful. They ended up doing an amnio soon after to make sure the lungs were mature and then she ended up having a c-section. I don't remember her saying it was really painful, but that might have been overshadowed by the fact that she was upset that she needed the c-section. Good Luck!

Re: external version
I had a friend that her baby was breeched and they wanted to do the version also and she opetd not to do it b/c she figured if the baby was able to move on her own then she would have done it already. p.s. thank god they didnt b/c the cord was wrapped around her neck twice and if they tried to do it who knows what could of happened.
