extra-wide shoes
My DS was measured this week and he wears a 4.5 extra-wide. Besides Striderite, are there any stores that carry this size? Any good websites?
Thanks!

Re: extra-wide shoes
I feel like there is a brand I have seen on Zappos called Jumping Jacks that carries wide. Not sure about extra wide.

Just checked.
Jumping Jacks, New Balance and Saucony all come in extra wide.

Re: extra-wide shoes
I don't live on LI anymore, but my mom used to take me to a store called Lang's Shoe Store in Amityville. They carried extra-wide. It was one of the ONLY places she could get dress shoes for me when I was little.

Re: extra-wide shoes
I believe Payless has a line of shoes for toddlers. They have XW.
Someone please correct me if I am wrong but isn't it also a division of Stride Rite?

Re: extra-wide shoes
I usually get him striderite and for that I either go to the outlet or online at shoebuy.com (go to retailmenot.com for coupon codes). They have been the best XW for DS so far although now he is starting to get into regular width or only wides so I have expanded his shoe collection to other brands.

Re: extra-wide shoes
Thanks so much for the info! I really appreciate it. I am on a hunt for some not-that-expensive sneakers to leave at daycare. DS isn't fully walking yet, but he needs to be in sneakers to go outside (even though he's in a stroller until he can walk).
Thanks again!

Oh you totally sparked something...for daycare I usually score some pretty good deals at Marshall's for striderite...and they have XW! The outlet is my #2 choice and online last...the outlet really is the best for selection in my opinion...but you can't beat $16.99 at Marshall's!

Re: extra-wide shoes
Check Stride Rite outlet too. I just went to the one in Deer Park and I was able to buy 2 pairs of sandals very similar to the one I got full price for $23 less at the outlet.

Re: extra-wide shoes
Def try Payless. My Ds has an XW foot too and it's a PITA. His instep his high so many times the velcro shoes won't close on top of his foot. My only luck has been SR or Payless.
