Extreme Light headedness - especially in morning? Am I alone?
The past few days, I've woken up with EXTREME light headedness and what feels like a pit/hole in my stomach - like starvation. The problem is that I can't even get OUT of bed because I feel so light headed and there's not much I feel like eating in the morning due to nausea (that's waning, thank God). My DH left me OJ next to my bed the other morning so I can drink it before I stand up, and it only helped a little. It's just amazing how my empty stomach feels totally connected to an empty, whoozy, light headed feeling in my stomach.
I'm assuming it's a low blood sugar issue? Is it normal or does it indicate a possible issue?
TIA! (in case you're wondering, I asked this on another thread earlier, but connected it to another symptom, which may be unrelated to the light headedness, so I just wanted to ask this by itself. Thanks!).

sometimes i get lightheaded in the morning if i get up too fast... or even from the steam in the shower. it's definitely low blood sugar for me cause after i eat a granola bar and have some water i feel much better.
i think you just need to force yourself to eat something before getting out of bed.

i had this too! it was so horrible... i started testing my blood sugar on my own and found that my "fasting sugar" (first thing in the morning) was actually too high. i ended up getting GD but only bc of that first blood sugar level. what helps is to make sure you eat protein at night before bed (cheese, yogurt, etc) and try not to go more than 8 hours w/o eating. and in the morning, make sure you have some protein with any carb you eat!

Thank you SO much!!! It's so hard for me to get protein in my diet because the only foods I don't have aversions to seem to be CARBS! BUT - I took your advice when I got light headed again earlier this evening and ate some Polly-O Part Skim Mozzarella. It TOTALLY worked. I felt better faster than I have after trying ANY other food. I really have been lacking on my proteins, which doesn't help since red meat makes me violently ill lately.
THANK YOU!!!! You rock!!!
