Eye infection w/the contact solution...

I'm sure you've all heard of Baush and Lomb's problem with the fungus. Well, my FIL won't leave me alone about this, but since I've recently came down with an eye infection (2nd one in 2 months) he swares it's that infection that's been going around causing lawsuits. Well, I went to the eye doctor and they said it was conjunctivitis (pink eye). My son had it first and then passed it onto me a couple of months ago, and it came back recently when I got a BAD cold. It never completely went away with the medication I was taking the first time. Anyway, I told him that I don't use the ReNu solution I use Walmart's brand Equate solution for my contacts. He still says I should call a lawyer. FOR WHAT??? Equate isn't made by Baush and Lomb. It's Walmarts own brand. I believe it's packaged at the same place as the B&L solution, but it's not theirs. Does anyone know for certain that Equate is not made by B&L??? I can't find one thing about it online. Thanks!

1-If it was made by Bausch & Lomb it would be on the bottle.

2- It was only with the Renu Moisture Lock (right now I have the MultiPlus cleaner - which is fine to use).

3- Tell him to go pour Renu in his eye & spend his time & energy on his own get rich quick scheme.

And kudos for you for being a much nicer DIL than I would be.

I have NO idea if your generic brand was made by you - But on the news they did say that B&L makes a generic brand that also might have issues.

I don't see that pink eye has anything to do with the solution - that was a different type of infection.

I've had pink eye issues for a month (knock on wood...finally went away)...I just think it's going around.

I think pink eye is viral, and not fungal, so like the poster above, I think these are two different types of infections.
