Face changing comments?
Just curious if you girls get them and how you react? I can't help but think that they are insulting but I may be looking into it too much. How do you girls feel about it? It annoys me because I hate the way my face looks lately.

Re: Face changing comments?
I would feel insulted.... what does that mean? Do I look ugly? I am a sensitive person though. I guess you have to look at the source. Is the person saying it to you someone who is genuinly just commenting... or is it someone who really has no tact? Try not to let it bother you.

So if I look different, what am I getting uglier. I'm overly sensitive though so I'm not sure if I'm just overreacting. The hormones are not helping either!

Re: Face changing comments?
I feel the same way. Someone told me at 10 wks my face looked "full". I was raking pics of myself bc I just couldn't see it. Sometimes people just say things and it's not true.

Re: Face changing comments?
When i was pregnant with DD I immediately started getting comments about how "round and big" my face was getting. They say that girls take the "beauty away" from the mother..or something like that. AFter a while I just ignored the comments and didnt let it bother me.
your body is changing, you can't help that. So just tell everyone to STFU and jsut brush them off

I hear my face is changing and then in the same sentence hear I must be having a girl. I just think wow does that mean I look ugly because the baby "takes the mothers looks"?!? I can't help but feel insulted. Old wives tales really annoy me because honestly what good do they do? They usually result in someone feeling hurt. Plus half the time they aren't even accurate.

Re: Face changing comments?
My face started to definitely change in the last couple of weeks and people have not been holding back. I am insecure enough about it and don't need to hear it. I CAN SEE.. I'm not oblivious...
Just the other night, I was at a wake for a family member and all of my cousins were standing around. One of them made the comment to my sister 'Wow, her face is really changing, huh?', then the others chime in with 'Yeah, her nose def got bigger'. I was like 'UMMMM THANKS!! I knew I could count on you guys!' I was even told how big my baby is going to be about umm, 4x. Soooo I left there feeling UGLY AND FAT! Awesome.
People do not know how to act around pregnant women and it amazes me everyday... Just brush it off! I know it's easier said than done bc I was about to pounce on all of them LOL, but it's not worth getting worked up over!

Re: Face changing comments?
Kristin, you are letting silly things people say get in the way of your happiness. I can tell how hard this is for you and how much it really is bothering you. It is probably because you have always been in control of the way you look, going to the gym often, eatting right, etc. But please try and remember that this is all happening for a reason, it does not last forever and people have been saying these things to women since the beginning of time.
I have seen your most recent pics and you look stunning, better than 90% of pregnant women. And you know what, your face probably has gotten fat, and your belly may be big and every other thing anyone has said to you may actually be true
BUT WHO CARES, you are not in a pregnant beauty contest, you are cooking that baby till its perfect and its not about you anymore.
You will totally be one of those lucky ones who go right back to being in awesome shape so please dont fret over this silly stuff anymore and really try to embrace why your body is changing. You are beautiful

Re: Face changing comments?
I get that all the time. Heck, I look in the mirror and think my face has changed! My nose seems wider and I just look fatter to me. But I don't care at all.
Usually when someone says something to me about my face looking different I say "Oh, I wonder if it will go back after! I think so!" and smile because it's all a mystery.
You do seem extremely sensitive to what other people say to you about your looks, which is fine -- you're allowed to feel that way. But I think you'd be a lot happier if you take the next year or so to step away from the mirror and let the inner cosmo girl go and just embrace the whole maternity and motherhood thing. You can go back to putting your best face forward after your child is 6 months old and you've had some time to adjust.

People dont think, but usually they dont mean it in a bad way.
Comments never bother me. I am just happy to even BE pregnant and could care less what people think I look like for 9 months.

Re: Face changing comments?
Funny. When I was pregnant with DS before I had my Level II everyone would say "wow, your face really changed, you must be having a girl, girls steal your beauty" or "wow, you must be having a girl, you are carrying everywhere and when it's a boy all you get is belly"
This time before we found out we were having twin girls people were saying "wow, you are just belly. you can't see the pregnancy at all in your face like when you were pregnant with Ryan"
People are weirdos. I jut ignore them.

I get this all the time!! They always say that my nose is bigger and someone told me recently that my face had "calmed down" since the last time she saw me! I just laugh and brush it off. Try not to let peoples stupid comments bother you.

Re: Face changing comments?
All the girls gave great advice..
Something that helps me is waking up 15 minutes earlier and taking a little extra time to do my hair and makeup extra pretty. It's something that makes me feel good, and if someone makes a comment I don't let it get to me as much. It may sound stupid and frivolous, but for me it really helps alot.
Pregnancy is really hard, but like the girls said, knowing you have a beautiful healthy little baby on the way makes it all better

Re: Face changing comments?
my face actually HAS changed so i think some of the comments are on....my lips seem swollen and i'm losing my cheekbones. i just make sure to put bronzer blush on my cheekbones and do my hair nicely...it certainly helps!

Re: Face changing comments?
No one has said anything about my face changing, but my skin broke out and people definitely mention that. I've done what some of the other girls have done by making the extra effort to have makeup on, but sometimes if I'm around the house or at my parents I don't which is when I get the comments.
I actually have no problem making people feel bad about it, mostly since it's my sister or my mom making a comment. My sister said something along the lines about your skin getting better during pregnancy and why mine got worse. I flat out out said well I guess my body didn't get the memo, but I'll be sure to remind yours about that when you get pregnant. When my mom said it, I said do you think maybe I'm self conscious about it and when you say my skin looks bad I feel bad about it. They both apologized after.
I'm not sure what I'd do if it was a stranger, but knowing myself I'd likely say oh well I guess that happens.
It's been really hard for me not to be showing and to pretty much look the same. I feel like everyone thinks I'm not really pregnant. I do try not to take it heart though.

Re: Face changing comments?
People just feel like they can say anything to you when you are pregnant. I have had 2 people (who don't know me that well) tell me that they could tell just by looking at me that I am pregnant, and I am not showing yet. One said my face is fuller, and the other said I basically look fat! People are just insensitive, and for now I can brush it off, but not sure how I will feel once I am showing!
