Re: face wash/ acne cream
best one i ever used was Clean N Clear Continuous Acne Control in the purple bottle. It has the same stuff in it as Proactive.

Re: face wash/ acne cream
My dermatologist recommended Cetaphil face wash and then I have a few prescription topicals. Teh Cetaphil makes my face feel clean, but does not dry it out.

Re: face wash/ acne cream
Murad Clarifying cleanser and its other acne products (the 3-step kit; you can get a mini size of it at sephora.com) has been good to me. I also use the Neutrogena Acne Stress control foaming face wash. I also know that dairy causes me to get some serious chin acne...so I watch it with the yogurt and cheese. I also take hair, skin and nail vitamins and my skin literally glows these days!

Re: face wash/ acne cream
Everything made me worse until I found DermaE I think it's like "Problem Skin" cleanser, it's usually in health food stores. Best stuff ever. I switch between that and Cetaphil.

Re: face wash/ acne cream
Nothing worked on me until I found an amazing dermatologist and I have been washing my face (at night) with Dove bar soap and I apply Azelex twice a day (it's safe when TTC and/or pregnant - one of the only treatments that is). Believe me, I've tried everything - everything listed here and more.
It's been 4 months and my face is clear. Finaly!!! I'd say around the 2/2.5 month mark the cyst-like acne stopped and I would just get little pimples here and there - mostly hormonally driven.
I also use BM (Bare Escentuals) and I think that helped too.

Re: face wash/ acne cream
As per my dermatologist, I wash with Cetaphil (the sensitive skin one) morning and night, and apply Tazorac before bed.
I had very bad cystic acne as a teen and after the birth of my second son. I now have the best skin I ever dreamed of (with the exception of a few small annoying pimples right before AF ).

Re: face wash/ acne cream
this has just happened to me recently, and the soonest I can get an appt w/a dermatologist to see what the hell is going on is in Oct, So for the 1st time I bought Proavtiv. I have only used it 2x so far, and believe it or not, I feel like the pimples that were there already are already drying up, and I think it's stopped the breakouts. Try it!
