Face wash/medication?

So after my vent last week about my skin looking horrible, I made a dermatologist appointment (again!) - but they can't see me until December 11th!!!!! Chat Icon So in the meantime, I'm suffering here.

Can anyone recommend an over the counter medicine/face wash that actually WORKS?!?! I have sensitive on top of this, so I really need something gentle, yet effective.

Thanks!

Cetaphil works for me or the Aveeno foaming face wash.

Re: Face wash/medication?

for over the counter i would do cetaphil with clearasil.

do you wear makeup? my face cleared up so much since i started using bare escentuals as opposed to liquid foundations.

in addition, drink a ton of water and get enough sleep.

Yes, I do wear makeup. I use perscriptives - liquid foundation and powder. At first i was happy with it, but I think it may be contributing to my problem. Do you get good coverage with bare essentials?

yes! i was so surprised at the results. you can get as little coverage or as much as you want depending on how much powder you put on the brush. then there is a separate small brush for zits or problem areas, and it gives great coverage. within a week my skin has been much clearer! get the trial kit (I got mine at Ulta with a 20% coupon) to see how you like it.

What is included in the trail kit? I was thinking of ordering it from the website -- is that not a good idea?

Is Bare Minerals the same thing as Bare Escentuals? I'm thinking of buying the starter kit for $58.00. Is that a good deal?

Yes, same thing. I got the starter kit. If you think you want to make sure of the color I'd test in store, if not getting it online is great!

ETA: That is a good deal. If you can find a 20% off code even better. It comes with a bunch of stuff--3 really good quality brushes, 2 foundations, a mineral veil (powder), and a bronzer and blush.

Re: Face wash/medication?

This skin regimen really helped my skin to improve a great deal:

face wash: Cetaphil for Oily skin

apply a thin layer of Neutrogena On the Spot Acne treatment (vanishing formula) to entire face.

Apply a pea sized amount of Neutrogena Healthy Skin lotion to face by smoothing it over hands and then apply by patting onto entire face (do not rub in- once done patting lotion onto face, allow to dry prior to applying make-up)

This is what I did morning and night as a last resort before trying a dermatologist- I never ended up at the dermatologist . . . .
