Its a game on facebook, where you buy real estate, do missions (like robbing a bank, drug smuggling, mugging, etc.) and buy up real estate in the "city". To do some of the higher level (and more profitable jobs) you need to have people in your "mob" -- which is why I was looking for friends to add  You can also fight with other mobsters & add people to the "hitlist" 
Its mindless entertainment, good for procrastinating and killing time.

I am addicted to the one on MySpace which is the exact same thing but called Mafia Wars. I dont like Facebooks layout it is too small but I did try it.
