I thought i was cruising along sooo well with this pregnancy. and to top it off we are moving to another state in exactly 30 days!!! I am soooo stressed. This really bites the big one. now not only do i have to worry about going out of state and having my little goober but now i have diabetes to boot! i swear sometimes i feel like nothing is ever going to go smooth for us.

Re: failed GTT
I'm sorry to hear that!!!! I just took the 3 hr. GTT on Wednesday because I also failed the 1 hour! Is it just a change in diet for you? You won't have to take insulin right?
PS. You're moving to another state???? You're not going to be my neighbor anymore?

That really stinks! Try not to stress yourself out too much though (easier said than done, I know!)!

Re: failed GTT
I had GD and needed 3 shots per day, a special diet and 4 testings per day. Please let me know what I can do to support you. Getting GD was the beginning of a very difficult time for me so I am here to help!! I understand.
Please know that this is NOT your fault. You didn't eat too much candy or not enough green beans. It is your body's chemistry.
Some GD is under control with simple diet changes. Mine was not that simple. I could have eaten one can of beans per day and still my GD would have required inslin shots.
There are 2 different opinions on controlling GD. Some doctors believe your number should be 140 2 hours post-meals, others believe 120 1 hour post meal. My endo was n the 120 1 hour post meal camp. I did see 2 different dietians though. The one at Stony Brook Diabetic Center is GREAT. Let me know if you need her info. She really helped me with my diet controls.

Re: failed GTT
Sorry to hear about the Gd - I know how much it stinks for I had GD too. If you want to chat or have questions, feel free to FM me - I know I needed to talk to people when I had it and hated every minute of it. I hated the diet but luckily mine was contreolled by a very strict diet. I was starving all the time but at least I avoided insulin.

Re: failed GTT
mine is being controlled by diet so far. testing 4 times a day and checking my ketons in the am. i do feel hungry but i know it is because my body is digesting the food fast. so i am going to up my protein intake and see how that goes. the diet is strict but its all for my baby isabella so i can deal with it.
