failed IUI, dr still wants me to come in for blood test?
I am supposed to go in tomorrow for my pregnancy test but AF reared her ugly head on Sunday. I called to cancel my appt for tomorrow but they want me to come in anyway to poke me for more blood to confirm.
It couldn't be more clear that I have AF and I really don't want to have to go in just for this. Besides the fact that I want to give it a break..
Do you think there is any reason for me to go?

For my many failed IUI'S I never went in for blood, I always got my period before my beta. For my failed IVF, I went in even though I took a test and it was negative

i would call and just keep saying you do not want to go and if they insist ask why

I wouldn't want to go in either... I never get AF before BETA so i have to go in. I think the Endometrin keeps AF away for me. I would just call and cancel the appointment. I don't know about you but I am so over giving blood. It has been 2 days in a row and 2 days where my veins weren't cooperating....so over it. Hope you don't have to go in.
Did you tell them you were going to take a break?

I wouldn't go. I only go in if AF hasn't shown before beta. If you know it's AF I would just cancel. Sorry this didn't work out

I didn't even have a chance to explain that I wanted to take a break- first reason was because I was at work and i'm trying to keep this private for now- and second was that the girl seemed to rush me off the phone just saying to come in for the bloodwork and then I can make another appt to meet with the dr?
I don't see the need at all either so it looks like I won't be going,

I would go. Even with AF you don't know if your beta may be slightly elevated to show you had a chemical which is USEFUL information. I have a history of early losses and skipped betas when I had my period .. and honestly wish I had not. If your doctor says to go, I would absolutely go.

I kinda agree with this. I had a chemical in February. AF showed earlier than usual. Had I never tested before schedule I would have never known.

sorry about AF... i know in the past when AF showed before my beta, i would cancel my beta appt and just schedule my CD 3 appt...

I have declined going for the beta most cycles. Between negative tests and AF being there (or about to be there) I just didn't go. They really can't force you and I had a co-pay everytime so it saved money too. The only time I went was after IVF even though I knew it was negative due to being on PIO and taking AF longer to start after stopping. I would talk to them about your options for future cycles. Hate to say it but seems more like it's about billing than anything else.
