Re: Fairway or Whole Food?

I couldn't say about the veggies so much, because I've never been to Whole Foods.

But Fairway's Shepard's Pie... Oh how I miss it sooo

Re: Fairway or Whole Food?

I've been to both locations you posted

Whole foods has a lot of their own brand

Fairway has the most extensive selections i have ever seen.

As far as produce i would say they are both the same never had a problem, sometimes i think fairway has better produce
Fairway also has amazing fresh french bread
Their cheese selection is incredible, its one of the only places i can buy buffalo mozzarella imported from Italy, yes its 10 dollars for a ball of it, but its amazing.
they also have an incredible selection of olive oils and balsamic vinegars and an insane selection of spices.

When i was making green peppercorn sauce, it was the only store that actually carred whole green peppercorns
No food stores has them

Fairway. I like Wild by Nature better than Whole Foods, and THAT'S saying something considering WBN is owned by the most expensive supermarket chain on LI.

we call WBN 'healthy for the wealthy' Chat Icon

their prices are so high that their perishables frequently are half-perished Chat Icon Chat Icon I once spent I think $10 for a 1/2 lb of ham... took it home... SPOILED.... becuase who is nuts enough to spend $20/lb for coldcuts? (that was the setauket store) too bad, becuase it's very close to home...

I was equally unimpressed by whole foods...
