Fake Tanning Creams and B.Feeding
Hi,
For all of you ladies who BFeed or have done so....do you think its safe to use tanning creams as long as they are not applied near the boob area?
So pasty and still trying to lose the last few pounds so thought a fake tan might make me look better, only if it wont be absorbed into my milk stream!!

i dont... who knows whats in them, if its bad or not. Go for 3 sessions at a tanning salon. Worked for me!

My pedi said no because there hasn't been enough research on it. Anything applied to your skin absorbs into your body, therefore into the milk....I haven't - I just sit in the sun as OFTEN as I can

Thanks for the replies....it seems on the kelly mom website that its okay but I guess I should go with my gut instinct which was not to do it......I had really wanted to avoid the sun this year as I have lots of little brown spots from last summer...you cannot win

I have always used them. I used them with all 3 of my kids, it is literally skin dye, it is not anything that gets absorbed into your blood stream, i stays on the op layer of skin, that is why i washes away with every shower. Totally safe.

Ok, so funny how weall have differnt take son this because I would never go into a tanning bed while Bfing becaus eof the rays being so close to your breasts, just like I would never get an x-ray while Bfing, too much radiation entering your body and then you go home and nurse Who knows anymore, I bet half these things are totally safe, but media has gotten us so petrified of everything.
