Fall activites for kindergarten?
Any good ideas? I used to do leaf rubbings.
Any cute bulletin board ideas?
Thanks

take a look on Enchanted Learning if you don't have an account, you can replicate them yourself on word or publisher - or it's only ~$20/year - well worth it for the early grades

Re: Fall activites for kindergarten?
we do a pumpkin day, usually right before halloween, and we weigh it on a scale (I try to get a really big pumpkin) and then weigh the children and say who is lighter, heavier or the same weight as the pumpkin; we take a vote as to whether it will sink or float, and then try it in a big bin of water; the kids cut a string that they think will fit around the pumpkin perfectly (circumference) and then measure it around the pumpkin and we graph the strings (longer than, shorter than, the same as). Then we cut it open to try to figure out why it floats (there is a lot of air in there, which usually has to be pointed out to them, but that;s ok!) and then we put handfuls of the pulp and seeds on their tables (use tables cloths and smocks) and the kids describe it, separate the seeds and put the seeds in groups of ten. It takes a looooog time to do all of this, and they absolutely LOVE it! I then bake the seeds and we try them the next day!

I did this too - its so much fun....
we also did name pumpkins where they practice writing their name in the mouth and then traced over it with beans....for a quicker arts and craft...
we read a cute sotry ( blanking on the name right now...something like the busy squirrel and then made suqirrels and wrote about our fav part....)
