Fall Foliage/New England Areas??
Morning,
My Hubby and I are looking to go away for about 3 nights for our first anniversary. I'll be about 7 1/2 months pregnant so we wanted to drive the most 6 hours away for a fall foliage vacation around the 18th of october. Please any recommendations would be great.
Thanks
Carmella

You might want to check out New Hope, PA. its a beautiful town, lots of cute shops and restaurants....the are is beautiful!
My DH and I try and go every year for a long weekend!
Also, there is Lambertville NJ right across the bridge and its the same type of town.

I LOVE new hampshire and the white mountain area. We went there for fall foliage a few years ago and it was amazing. Look for places in Conway or Lincoln.

Re: Fall Foliage/New England Areas??
we just got back from maine, and had a great time! we didn't see too much foliage becasue it was early, but it was such a nice place to be! we stayed on the coast (Rt.1) where there is camden, rockport, rockland, belfast, freeport... such beautiful scenery of the rocky coast, etc. the drive wasn't bad... we stayed at a hotel in belfast ( the comfort inn, which i would definitely recommend! great views of the water from all the rooms, nice hot tub and pool) and that was about 8 hours from north jersey... so probably less from LI.

Drive up Rt. 7 through CT (stop in Kent - lovely town!!) - up into MA - stoppping in Lenox in the Berkshires - then Williams -- continue north on Rt 7 to Manchester, VT.
We did this drive last year, staying at B&Bs along the way - it was so beautiful!!
PS I was 2 months pg when we did it

Warren Ct. in VT is amazing. DH and I go each year. ILs own a condo on a ski resort up there. It's about 30 min. from Ben and Jerry's factory. There are a few really cute towns with great restaurants and shops...I suggest either Stowe or Sugarbush. It's about 6 hrs away. Great hiking, awesome food.

Re: Fall Foliage/New England Areas??
At that time, your best bet is southern Vermont, around Bennington. The foliage might be gone by that point, though. Also try the Berkshires in MA.
