Pulling the whole gang together for a family cruise (adults 35 - 65 and kids 2 - 11).

Re: Family Cruise recommendations
I would check out Carnival. Esp with a group that ranges in age.
The price is great, the ships are all being re done and most have the new waterworks onboard for the kids and adults .
They really have something for everyone. We went in May and are going again Nov 09. I can't wait

Re: Family Cruise recommendations
I second Carnival. My whole family went on the Miracle out of NYC and the ship and crew were amazing. There was something for everyone, and my niece and nephew went to the camp (read daycare) there and wanted to go back every night (it costs $$$ though).
We loved every minute of it.

Re: Family Cruise recommendations
I've heard awesome reviews of the Disney Cruise Line. My father and his wife took their kids on it (my father and his wife can be very snobby) and they raved about it. Have fun!!

Disney, Princess, RCCL are all great! Celebrity is good with families too if you go when kids are out of school.

Re: Family Cruise recommendations
Carnival is the way to go. Went with my husband's family (13 of us) this past winter on the Liberty and they had something to offer for everyone (Oldest was 70, youngest was 3 with a variety of ages in between). The 3 year old is autistic and they were great with her.
Check cruisecritic.com for any other ideas but one thing we found is DO NOT GO WHEN SCHOOLS ARE ON VACATION! The ships are too crowded and some people get rowdy. We've always gone the week before or the week after a school vacation and never had a problem. (Cruisecritic reviews back this up.)

Re: Family Cruise recommendations
We did a family cruise on Disney 4 years ago & it worked out wonderfully. There was enough to keep all the little ones entertained & the adults were able to have a lot of fun too.
Other lines to consider, RCCL, Princess & NCL....I am not a fan of Carnival but that is a personal thing...

Carnival has come a long way. My parents usually only travel Celebrity and NCL but went with us on Carnival and were very impressed

Re: Family Cruise recommendations
I would not recommend Royal Carribean. It is for older people. However, I did cruise on carnival and it appeared to have an amazing kids program.

I have to disagree. We recently went on Royal Caribbean and it was a nice mix of people. Mostly young couples, groups of 20-somethings and families.
There are TONS of activities for every age group too.
Carnival does have a great kids program too, but we were much more impressed with the food, staff and the ship itself on RCCL.

I have to agree with CaMacho - we have several family and friends who have gone on RCCL with young kids and had a blast. They have also been on Carnival and weren't too impressed.
Honestly I think each cruiseline and ship has its own personality and appeals to different people - so you have to look at what each person wants to get out of the cruise and which one suits your style best.
