Family friendly Jersey shore towns
We're looking to rent a beach house this summer at the Jersey shore but need some help. We want a family friendly town with a downtown area and a nice beach...definitely NOT a party atmosphere.
Any ideas? People have recommended Ocean Grove and Bradley Beach. The closer to NY the better.
Thanks!

Re: Family friendly Jersey shore towns
i've live in NJ my whole life... i LOVE ocean city. its great, and very family friendly! they have a neat boardwalk with games, and rides, and all the great boardwalk food LOL AND its a "dry" town, so there are no liquor stores or bars in the town... which helps keep away a lot of the "sketchy" element, and keeps it more family friendly. i went to college not too far from there, and we would go there a lot for a break during finals and whatever... its also where DH proposed

Hi, Long Beach Island is awesome. The whole area is very family friendly, much more quieter, nicer beaches etc. There is a lot to do and sometimes you can find a great rental. We found a house last summer on Craigslist, great deal and one street away from the beach.

My aunt and uncle have a house on Long Beach Island, in Manahawkin. It's great! A lot of fun and they have a boardwalk and an amusement park etc.

Ocean City is very family-friendly. When my grandfather was alive, we used to go there every summer. The beaches are very clean, there are many family-friendly activities and it is a dry town
