Family Fund

How do you set up a "fund" for a family? Like the "Smith Family Fund"..... Is there special tax paperwork, etc...? My cousins have lost both parents and many people want to give donations, so I am just trying to figure out the right way to go about it.

I set up a fund for my brother and his family when he was in the hospital.
I didn't do any special tax paperwork because the money was all going towards paying his bills.
I did, however, set up a seperate Paypal account and checking account under the fund name with me as the executor. Once he and his wife were back on their feet, I closed both accounts.
