family photo in birth announcement?
we're in the process of doing our birth announcement for our son.
we have a beautiful photo of DH, DS and me that we would love to include in his birth announcement. but i've never seen or received a birth announcement that has the family instead of just the baby so i don't know if it's appropriate or not. it would be a collage announcement so there will be other photos of just the baby.
the announcement will be something like this (but with a family shot instead of mom and child):
please be honest because there are other photos we could use but this one is just so nice...we are torn.

I don't think there are set "rules" for announcements. You can do whatever you want. I think it would be nice to see the whole family on an invite. People love pictures.

Use whatever photo you like - it doesn't sound inappropriate at all!
I think a family photo for an annoucement is a nice idea.

The family photo is a great idea! SIL sent one out of the three of them along with a pic of Mia by herself (collage announcement). I thought it was so so cute. Do it!

Ours had a collage of 8 photos and one of them was of the 3 of us. I went back and forth on this same issue but now I am glad we did a family photo.

we happened to get a really cute pic of DH, me and DS when we got home from the hospital and I included it on the announcement...i don't see anything wrong with it!

I LOVE seeing family photos in Birth Announcements! They always make me so much happier than just seeing a baby alone!!!

we did a family photo in our birth announcement. The biggest pic was the new baby, then we had 2 smaller pics. One was baby with older sis and other was the baby with us.

Just because you've never seen it done doesn't mean that you shouldn't do it. If it's a beautiful photo, I'm sure your friends and family would love to see it!
