You may also want to try to put him thermal pants or something very snug around his legs. A lot of time toe walking can be a result of trying to get that proprioceptive input.
They also have shoes that make sounds to encourage the toe to heel walking

Re: Far fetched but does anyone have a dc that
DS has well above normal flexibility in his joint. Especially his wrists/upper body.
Which has been an issue on why he is not strong at all. Big boy but floppy muscles. He is low tone.
We has OT and PT and since we did horseback riding we have seen major improvement in his core strength but he is still not up to par for his age.
He is still VERY imbalanced and if you push him he WILL fall backward. His muscles are too weak to hold position. He still can't do sit ups and has to lean on the side to go from a laying down on back position to a sitting position.
His toe walking has slowed down. If you put boots or shoes that go above the ankle it will be MUCH HARDER for him to toe walk. In general, DS does toe walk as much with shoes. But he still trips a lot. He still cannot alternate legs going up the stairs. Although that has improved because if I hold him under the armpits going up the stairs he now can do alternate legs.
"strength training" is what we do to help him. The low tone will NOT go away neither the hyperflexibily. I have a balance beam for him at home. We do squatting exercise. I have an exercise ball. I have to put the trampoline together still.
Since school is out until January and his uninterrupted services do not provide OT and PT at home, I will have to work with him myself for the 1.5 week.

I have worked with some students that used biofeedback for toe walking. It may be something to ask your doc about.
