farmingdale/massapequa/melville area for laid back 40th bday
I don't even know what I'm looking for lol, but I'm hoping to get some inspiration on here. I'm looking for a place in or around the farmingdale area to celebrate a 40th birthday (not me). I think we're looking for more of a bar so people can come and go, but a dinner is not out of the question. We would just like a fun night out, but not at a place with a lot of college kids. Thanks!

There is Kodiacs on route 110. I suggest Croxley & Ales, in Farmingdale village. Its big enough for a party. I think the Library is cramped, I hate going there.

Library and Good life i definitely second the recommendations. But Black forest Brew hause is also a fun place, that you can drink and eat.

Thanks so much for the responses!
We'll probably have around 20 people. I've never been to (or heard of for that matter) the Good Life. What is that like?
I haven't been to the Library Cafe in years, but I'm afraid it will be too cramped there.
Can anyone tell me any more about Kodiak's and Black Forest Brewhaus?

We go to Black Forrest allll the time. Actually, our rehearsal dinner was there last year. We love it! They have 5 or 6 brewed beers that they specialize in (DH really likes them). The food is good too! They make a great spinach and artechoke dip that they serve with bagel chips...and they use fresh spinach in the dip! I won't eat spinach/artechoke dip anywhere else. They're very accomodating there too. Feel free to ask me any questions!

The Good Life - Good Bar, good crowd, TERRIBLE Food.
Croxley Ales - Good Bar & Good Food, mix of people. - We take our kids for dinner .....so it's not really a BAR, Bar KWIM?
The Library - Good food, BAD bar scene
I've never been to Kodiaks - but hear good things.
There's also McCann's on Merrick Rd in Massapequa, Singleton's on Hemp. Tpke/107 in Massapequa/Bethpage - both have outdoor spots if the weather is nice.

Main Event on Old Country Road in plainview.
Good food, big bar and lots of space.

Croxely's in Farmingdale puts on a great party. I had a party for DH there and they kept coming out with wings and food and everyone was able to have any of their beers (and they have like 30 on tap or something)
It was so much fun! We had the entire back part of the bar, it's semi private.

Had my 40th birthday in the back room. The minimum is 45 to have it back there FYI... It was fantastic...
