Re: Farmingdale schools?
I went to Farmingdale and still live here. I'm not too sure about the current reputation. Where I live, dd will go to Northside which I am very happy about. Not sure about the high school anymore. So I don't think it's the best but I don't think it's the worst, either.

Re: Farmingdale schools?
We live right near the HS and it looks like a wonderful school. We're also by the elementary school and I've only heard nothing but good things about it.

Re: Farmingdale schools?
No complaints here! So far my son has had the GREATEST teachers, the school is clean, updated, he had 5 computers in his kindergarten class, the playground is brand new, the principal and AP are approachable and helpful.... honestly, I cannot say enough about it. My ONLY complaint is that there is not a bus matron on the bus.
Feel free to FM me if you have any questions!

Re: Farmingdale schools?
When I was a kid and my folks were looking for a new house, they specifically bought in the Farmingdale district because it was among the best in NYS. That was 1979.
I had a great experience, but am not sure how things have changed. When Dh and I bought our house 4.5 years ago, Farmingdale was one of our first choices (along with Massapequa and Seaford), but we ended up in Lindenhurst because it was a LOT cheaper to be on the Suffolk side of the border.

Re: Farmingdale schools?
Farmingdale is one of the towns on my list of where to live! My cousins go to their schools and I've heard no complaints from them or my Aunt for that matter. I think it's a good district.

Re: Farmingdale schools?
I just got the Farmingdale Schools newsletter yesterday. There have students going to Harvard, Yale and a LONG list of other prestigious schools.
