Fashion issues
I have never been so frustrated w/ shopping before! The 1980's looks that are coming back I don't think flatter me. I feel so dumpy in the oversized sweaters that they have out. I can't get back into the boots over the jeans thing again. I'm having nightmares of 5th grade! Is there anything I can do to make these things a little more flattering? This is the style, so obviously I'm stuck with it. I'm short, but thin...all of my height is in my legs, but the oversized look is just too long. The one I tried on today almost came down to my knees and just didn't look good! And then my chest makes me look heavy in it.

Re: Fashion issues
Why follow trends? (especially if they don't work for you)
Why not stick with the classics/basics?

I totally hear you. I had a horrible shopping day today too. So disappointing. Nothing looked good and I really didn't even love anything that I saw

Why not stick with the classics/basics? I agree. I haven't given into any of the "latest trend" clothing this Fall. I refuse to wear something that I hate. what's the point?

Re: Fashion issues
I dont like it either, so I buy basics/classics and once in awhile throw in a trendy "something" if I like it

Re: Fashion issues
Thank goodness I'm not the only one! The problem I'm finding is that certain things need to be replaced, but when I go to the stores all I see is this stuff. I've seen some nice stuff in stores I can't afford to shop in (ie Anne Taylor, Banana Republic, etc).
I was having this convo w/ a friend of mine at work and she agreed too. We started talking about how strange that LEGGINGS are back! Sheesh, next thing you know 10ft tall bangs and hair crimping will be back!

Re: Fashion issues
I know what you mean, being a short person, those longer shirts come down past my knees, and I look like a fool. I haven't shopped in a non-outlet store since the spring. Even this summer, the look was those crazy long tanks, which didn't work for me.
