Fashion Pet Peeves
Guys that wear their pants below their butt. This is my number one pet peeve. I think it's a horrible trend.

Re: Fashion Pet Peeves
Pants that are too short. I am 5 9 and wear heels and can STILL manage to find pants long enough for me. And the thing is- 99% of the time that I see women walking around with pants that are noticibly too short, they are NOT tall. They are usually short and they are wearing flats. COME ON!

Re: Fashion Pet Peeves
Was in Starbucks today. This teenage girl comes in wearing shorts that were so short, ass cheek was hanging out.
I didn't even realize this was a fashion pet peeve of mine until I saw it today: visible ass cheek.

I saw this on the LIRR coming home one late night. The chick was obviously drunk and she was standing by the doors, hanging all over her boyfriend and every time she moved you saw her ENTIRE azz cheek. Not to mention- said azz cheek was covered in celluite.. Not a good look.

hipsters
Several years ago I remember looking at a guy and a girl on the train with dorky haircuts, wearing thick black glasses, skinny jeans and a cardigan sweater thinking 'when did looking like a nerd become cool?'

YES!!!! This drives me crazy!!!
I also agree with the poster who mentioned pants being to short. I'm 5'9 as well and all of my pants are long enough for me, I HATE how high waters look!!!

Re: Fashion Pet Peeves
I don't get the appeal of Toms or Sperrys. I know they're all the rage...I just don't get it. Sparkly/metallic versions of either of the two are even worse.
Leggings as pants.
Pants that are way too tight where a 'muffin top' becomes an 'entire sheet cake top'.
Low rain boots...like booties.
The "paint my ring fingernail a contrasting color" thing. You rebel, you.

Re: Fashion Pet Peeves
Granny prints, like big flowers or birds. If your grandmother would wear it, just because they sell it in higher-end store, that does NOT mean it looks good on anyone other than Great Aunt Mildred.
I also can't get on board with Toms. Sperrys don't bother me as much. Shoes like Merrels and Clarks do. Talk about old-lady shoes, and as sandals, even worse
Booties with leggings or skinny jeans. IMO they don't look good on anyone.
Leggings as pants only bother me when the asss isn't covered too.

Re: Fashion Pet Peeves
I can't say I really have any fashion peeves...everyone's got their own preferences and anyway, I'm certainly no one to judge--except when my girls get older.
Buuut....
The one thing that drives me irrationally crazy is when it's cold--I'm talking like 30 degrees cold!--and women are going around wearing dresses with bare legs. What the hell is wrong with stockings or tights?!! I mean, I become unhinged when I see this

I am bare legged 365 days a year - unless the outfit is appropriate for tights .......but I don't wear stockings, I don't see the point.
My hugest 'fashion' pet peeve is people who don't dress for their body - just b/c it's 'in style' DOES NOT mean it looks good on you.
Also, people who insist on wearing something 2 sizes too small - "It zips" is NOT the same as "it fits"

Leggings as pants. Sheer tops with just a bra underneath.
The only people who may get a pass for these two things are teenagers, since they often don't know any better.
Even if you don't have $$$ to spend on a wardrobe, there's no reason to dress this way IMO.

Not sure what she meant but MAYBE she meant flip flops with a work type dress or dressy pants?

Re: Fashion Pet Peeves
Skinny jeans on men leggings or tights worn as pants (I mean the sheer kind). Shorts were I can see tush hanging out. No one , no matter how old or young should wear this look if they have any self respect. If your toes hang off of the front of your shoe, then the shoe does not fit you. This is my number one pet peeve.

Yes, that is exactly what I meant. I don't think there's ANYTHING wrong with flip flops, but I'm talking about scruffy, beat up flip flops with either a fancier type dress or business attire, especially with dress pants that are too long to be wearing flip flops with and the bottoms of the pants get caught in the flip flop.
