Fashion vent-why do I feel like the insdustry has a scr*w the plus size gals attitude
I am Post-partum and bigger than I'd like to be right now. So I spent far too much time in Lane Bryant yesterday trying to get one pair of jeans to be prepared for fall. It turns out after 10 pairs I am not plus sized enough for W sizes-ok. Not the end of the world, so I need something like an 18 regular in pants. Fine so I head accross the mall to the Gap to get curvy jeans in an 18
They are running a terrific special- But 1 jean get the second for $20 (great for Gap right?) but they only go up to size 16 in store (again not the end of the world) here's where I get ******. The promo is not available online. Let me get this straight. You won't carry my size in store so I don't get to benefit from your in store sales or promos at all-really got me PO'd.

I would write a letter to corporate. That is totally ridiculous. I wonder can you order them at the store and use your coupon?

I have seen where they even charge extra for "plus-sized" denim, and they try to justify it by saying that since they have to use more fabric, they have to have a higher price tag. I know it is frustrating. I'm not sure of your age, but have you checked out Torrid? Or Alight? Alight is in Plainview. Torrid can kind of be for the teen to 20's crowd, but if you are just purchasing jeans, they'd be fine.
Torrid is located in Sunrise Mall, I think. Torrid.com

i feel your pain and am in a VERY similar position with finding jeans. Lane Brayant is TOO big, GAP is tough finding the right fit.
Try New York and Co. and also Ann Taylor Loft! I find the best fits there for jeans. Both go up to 18 too!!

My problem is that when pants fit my waist, they're too large in the butt/thighs. I'm apple shaped. I wish i could get away with maternity jeans - i can wear a 10 in them, because they have a stretchy waist!

My friend had a similar issue- and she tried men's carpenter jeans. They fit her well and looked really nice. Maybe that would work for you.
Cloddy, I would definitely write to them, as the others have said. That's not fair for them to do it that way.

I was a 16 once and yes, it was very hard. I used to spend a lot of time shopping and searching for the perfect clothes. At that size, you are not neccessarily plus but then "regular" stores don't have anything and it was frustrating. I used to luck out in The Gap as well even though they didn't ALWAYS have the size I needed.
I would complain and say you should get the promotion. Call the 800 number and speak to customer service. Maybe they will be willing to give you the discount online.

I have the opposite problem - when they fit my butt/thighs, the waist is too big. The last place I found jeans that would fit me (size 16/18 also) believe it or not was Sears. Lee's and Levi's. And I didn't break the bank either.
They may not be as cheesy as you think.
