Faster Flow nipple
Does this cause any issues if switched too soon?
I got Noah the faster flow ( 3 months ones) for the Dr. Browns bottles.
No formula dripsout, he drinks the bottle in about 15 minutes versus 30-40 for his older flow nipple but he seems to be very upset the last two bottles afterwards, cranky etc.
Is it too soon?

Re: Faster Flow nipple
I'm glad you asked this. THe same exact thing happens with DD. My mom thinks it's because she doesn't get as long of a "rest time" because she drinks so much faster. I don't know about that, but I'm starteing to dread the end of the bottle and have resorted to giving her the pacifier right after- I really don't want to make that a habit though.

Re: Faster Flow nipple
Does he burp half way through? If not, maybe try that. I know when Emma started on the faster nipple, she was fussy after, but I think it just took a few minutes for her brain to register with her belly that she is full in that short amount of time!

Re: Faster Flow nipple
Changing the nipple was the best thing I did. I think i waited too long...she was like 4 1/2 months. She was getting very frustrated and taking like 40 minutes to eat, not finishing bottles anymore and eating sooner then every three hours. Our lives revolved around her eating. After the switch she would finish in 10-15 minutes, I could feed her a little more in each bottle so she could go longer betweeen feedings. It seemed like that allowed me to have so much more control over her eating schedule. Now she eats at the same exact time every day and things are much easier.
At the beginning, I would take the bottle from her mouth occasionally to slow her down because it seemed to fast for her to quickly. Maybe try that.

Re: Faster Flow nipple
I would think if he is ready and not gagging on the formula with the new nipple then its fine. I can't remember when I switched to Level 2's for DS.
