Father Of The Bride
My grandma is in town from Florida and she never saw that movie...so it was on HBO Latino...she's Cuban so we decided to watch it. At the end, she started crying and I assumed she was just emotional over me and how I recently got married, etc. But she wasn't. I got really sad and said, "Abuelita, what's wrong?" Now, my aunt (her daughter; it was just my aunt and mom) passed away from cancer about 4 years ago. She was crying because she was thinking about my aunt's wedding day.....I started balling. I was so sad. I can't imagine how hard it is to outlive a child, plus my grandpa is gone, too. I'm just got so emotional about it..watching her cry all over again..she's normally so happy considering, but I felt so sad. I'm so happy she'll be in New York on Mother's Day this year. That's it. I just felt like sharing. I told DH and I started crying!
Damn that movie. Gets us every time....

oh lord no! my dad and I watced it with my mom but months before. i usually cave at the part where steve martin is in bed the night before the wedding, seeing her in all the stages of her life....THEN....I lose it again when he says he'll never see her in her slippers coming down to breakfast....
