Re: Father's Day Menu
we are having a BBQ as well. Probably do a sausage pinwheel, hamburgers and hotdogs, marinated chicken. maybe a london broil...
as for sides, I have no idea. Tossed salad, mac and potato salad...I am boring, would love to hear about some inventive sides.
we'll have an antipasto spread of fresh mozzarella and peppers, salami, soppressata, roasted peppers to start with.

Re: Father's Day Menu
why not just do variations on your typical sides. Like instead of a macaroni salad, why not an orzo salad? Orzo Salad

Re: Father's Day Menu
we're going to bbq also..... it's looking like pinwheels sausages, tuna steaks, burgers and dogs...
my father likes broncini (sp???) it's small fresh mozz balls, grape tomatoes, onions in some oil...so we'll have that.... potato salad, and mac salad....
and that's about it, with father's day, we do the stuff he likes...and he likes the basics.
ETA:...I was focusing on salads...we almost always have corn on the cob also, I do them in the microwave....
just put them in the microwave, don't remove the husks....nuke for 1.5 minutes per ear, and then throw them in a bowl or on a platter and cover with a dishtowel, by the time they make it outside, and everyone makes up thier plates, they'll have cooled enough for people to open the husks themselves.
And I usually do veggie ke-bobs....peppers, mushrooms, onions and tomatoes, I spritz them with olive oil and grill them, and then each person can take a kebob, and it's thier veggies.
