I agree with King Umberto's in Elmont - their food is amazing!
I also love Cafe Baci in Westbury and Villa Rustica in Bayside.

Cafe Continental - in Manhasset
It is Northern Italan food which is so much different than most of the Italian resturants out there that serve Southern Italian.
Not on Long Island - Piccolo Venezia in Astoria.

And Nocello in Whitestone is amazing. The chef is from el Salvador but cooks Italian food like a boss. Feshest food!
