Favorite meals at Disney?
I'm looking for both character and non-character options at Disney. The boys will be 5.5 and almost 2 when we go. DS2 doesn't like people dressed as characters when they get too close, but DS1 loves them. I'd like to do at least 2 character meals. I'm pretty sure we'll do the regular dining plan. We'll be staying on-site although we haven't picked a hotel yet.
We plan on spending 1 day at Epcot, 1 at Animal Kingdom, 1 at Hollywood Studios and the rest of the week at Magic Kingdom. DH and I like almost any type of cuisine and the kids are pretty well behaved at restaurants.
What restaurants (character and non-character) should I try to book? Thank you!

Favorite meals at Disney?
This is the list I sent to my sister of what we like. There are so many good choices though! I didn't add in any resort restaurant favorites because it really depends on where your staying.
Magic Kingdom
Sit Down
Castle - Must do any meal is good (B,L,D) I prefer breakfast because it's cheaper and they had some yummy food. (Princesses)
Be Your Guest - It's the Beasts castle and you can meet the Beast. Good food and it's the only restaurant in Magic Kingdom that serves alcohol. (D)
The Plaza - cheap and diner food. Good burgers, sandwiches and icecream. (L,D)
Liberty Tree Tavern - Lunch is regular menu and dinner is a thanksgiving meal dinner. The setting is like Colonial America. Very good and cute (L,D)
Counter Service
Casey's Corner - All different franks. Seating is outside
Columbia House - fried shrimp baskets, tuna sandwiches, fish and chips
Cosmic Rays - Different areas, burgers, chicken, sandwiches
Monorail from MK
Chef Mickey's (B,D) - its a buffet so it's buffet food lol. They have the fab five there so it's a great place to see them all at the same time and you get to ride the monorail!
1900 Park Fare - (B,D) - we love the breakfast, buffet but good. They have Pooh, Tigger, Alice, Madhatter and Mary Poppins. Lots of fun and some different characters. The dinner I wasn't too thrilled with and they have Cindy, the Prince, step mother and step sisters. They were to intense for DD and they actually make her cry so we steer clear of those.
Ohana - (B,D) Character buffet breakfast with Stitch. Dinner is one of those carve the meat off the stick places. Not our cup of tea but it is a park favorite. They play coconut games and have a singer at night. Lots of people love it.
Kona Café - (B,L,D) - one of our favorite restaurants. Great breakfasts and delicious dinners. Casual feeling and good for kids.
Animal Kingdom
Table Service
Tusker House - (B,L) Buffet meal but has more interesting stuff than an normal buffet. Characters, Mickey, Goofy, Donald. One of our favorites
Yak and Yeti - (L) says it's a Chinese restaurant but they have the best Kobe Burger in all of Disney. Yum!
Counter Service
Flame Tree BBQ - (L) good bbq, ribs and chicken, huge portions
Hollywood Studios
Table Service
50's Prime Time Diner - (L,D) Diner food set in the 50s, waitresses make you eat your vegetables
SciFi Drive In - (L,D) - normal food, burgers and sandwiches. You sit in a car and they show old clips of movies from the 50s/60s. It's dark in there but fun.
Mama Melrose - (L,D) set up like an old time italian restaurant. Good for flat bread pizzas, simple pasta dishes.
Epcot
There are so many restaurants I can't even choose. I would only eat in the "world" part though as the other areas aren't as good. All countries have a sit down and a counter service so it's just want you would like to eat. We like the UK area for the pub and fish and chips. The german restaurant is fun because they have those long horns and they do a show that the kids can dance. The french restaurants are great, morocco has a nice restaurant with belly dancing, the italian restaurant has awesome pizza. Canada has a great steak house.
Boardwalk
Flying Fish - Signature restaurant and the menu looks awesome. Top on my list to go for me, we just having gotten to it yet.
Kat Cora's Restaurant - Greek food and she is an iron chef.

Re: Favorite meals at Disney?
I would definitely suggest doing Tuskers for breakfast at Animal Kingdom. We thought it was great! We also really like Morocco for lunch with the belly dancers in Epcot. And the Mexican place is good too. I feel like there are a lot of character meet and greets in Epcot that you can skip them during meals. Of course that's just my personal opinion.

Here was my issue with Ohana. The food was great and so was the restaurant, service, etc. BUT even though the entertainment with the kids was great, I personally wasn't comfortable with DS (who was 5 at the time) marching all over the restaurant without me right there watching him. So I had to follow him all night, my food got cold so I didn't get to enjoy the meal much at all. Plus for some weird reason it was freakishly freezing in there. And I wasn't fond of the 1 dessert choice. But if you ask the rest of my family that was there that night (DH and my parents) they would rave about it!
We went to Chef Mickey 2x during the 4 days we were in Disney though

I can see that. We were on the other side so we didn't "see" the action, and my DD wasn't too interested anyway. But yes, I can totally see that.
