Favorite Mexican Restaurant?
I need your recommendations please!! I'm not crazy about any of the places we've tried so far. Would ideally like it be within 15 minutes of Syosset/Hcksville/Woodbury.
And if you can post your favorite dish, that would help, too!! I can never decide what to get!!

Re: Favorite Mexican Restaurant?
here are my favorites. I usually order soft tacos. Sometimes I mix it up and get a combo plate that many offer. btw - I adore mexican food.
Poco Loco - Roslyn (my favorite.) -best margaritas, but they are strong. -in the summer, their outdoor porch is really a nice atmosphere
Cozymels - westbury -its a chain. But they ahve the best chips and salsa and their food is good.
Poncho Villas - Huntington -Have only been 2 or 3 times, but everytime the food was good.

Re: Favorite Mexican Restaurant?
I highly highly recommend El Coyote Loco in Seaford. Its on Merrick Road, like halfway between the Wantagh Pkwy and the 135.
It is sooooo good! Even my dad who hates Mexican food, but like Paella says its the best paella that he's ever had. The food there is just so good and so fresh!

Re: Favorite Mexican Restaurant?
I really like Besito in Huntington (I think there is also a location in Roslyn now). I haven't been in a while but I used to really like it - its similar to Rosa Mexicano or Dos Caminos, in the city, if you have been to either of those places.

Re: Favorite Mexican Restaurant?
El Mariachi in Rockville Centre is soooo good.. love the chili (it's spicy but not overly spicy) and the steak is always a good option. The drinks are good too.

We used to love Pancho's Cantina in Island Park had gone there for years, and now recently think they went down a bit!!
my husband and I wanted to like this place so much! We gave it two tries. The first time the waiter spilled gucamole all over my lap and didn't say sorry or anything. i had to walk back to find someone to give me a wet cloth. The second time there was a gang fight in the parking lot while we were waiting for our table (not their fault) and then once we were seated we were there for 2 hours because the waiter kept forgetting to put in our order. The food was decent though. But we won't go back.
I have heard mixed things about besito, but have always wanted to try it - i see only good things on here, so I think I'll make plans to go with DH. :)
I forgot to list that DH and I like Cabo in Rockville Center.

Holy crap, a gang fight!?!??! When???? What time...I have gone there for years and those are the most awful things ever...again, I do think their service and food went down terribly in the last year which is a shame bc it really used to be great

I also love Mangoes in Bethpage. If you are willing to drive a little bit, Don Ricardos in Babylon village is awesome too. I like the atmosphere in there the best. It's good for a date night.

I was not at all a fan of Besito. I love Mexican food and used to have it all the time when I lived in Manhattan. I was so excited to try Besito but it does not compare to Rosa Mexicana, Maya, Dos Caminos, etc.
I wasn't a fan of El Mariachi in RVC either.
I haven't tried Cabo though, maybe we'll check it out soon.
