Favorite Outdoor toys for 4 year old besides a swing set
We like to get dd a new main/ big outdoor toy each year for her bday. We aren't investing in a swing set until we are in our forever house.
So far she has 1. A slide 2. Bike 3. Scooter 4. Barbie escalade power wheels 5. Small water table 6. Soccer set 7. Basket ball hoop 8. The alligator sea saw ( think she's outgrowing it now) 9. BBQ
I was thinking of those step 2 playhouses but are they worth it? The step 2 up and down roller coaster? Trampolines scare me so no to that.
Any good ideas ladies????

I dont have one but I was looking at them at TRU and they are really cool! We do have a bounce house and that's really special (we only take it out occasionally so it's always a hit).

Re: Favorite Outdoor toys for 4 year old besides a swing set
BTW, I looked at the Step 2 houses and I felt it wasn't worth it now since my DD is now 4.5. But she does love them, however I didn't think at this point it was worth the $ since she is getting tall. But it may be worth it for your DD who is younger.
Another cute thing we got is a pop up soccer net and soccer ball. You can close the net and put it away.

My DD is turning 4 and always asks for one of the houses.

Re: Favorite Outdoor toys for 4 year old besides a swing set
I think 4 might be a little old for the Step2 playhouse and roller coaster...
I just ordered my 4 and almost 3 year old this for the summer...

We also have a Step2 Sand and Water table that both of my kids love and can't get enough of. Maybe something like that (or a regular sandbox) since you said you just have a small water table?

She has the soccer net/ ball set. She got it this spring. How hard is it to assemble/disassemble the bouncy house??? And how much room does it take up?

Re: Favorite Outdoor toys for 4 year old besides a swing set
My almost 4&3 year olds love their playhouse & roller coaster. They have hrs of fun. Both are extremely tall for their age & still fit comfortably.
The blow up water slides are nice but we found they wear out extremely quickly & after.2 years ours is unusable. It got very thin (material) so now anytime the kids try to climb, it collapses.

Ours is larger so it's too heavy for me to lug out, which is why we don't use it often. DH sets it up. And there are various sizes so take a look on TRU.com
btw, just saw a step 2 playhouse that goes up to age 7! And is 62" height inside!!! Take a look on Step 2 website for playhouses for ages 5-7. My DD would love that, and yours is younger so that may work.

Re: Favorite Outdoor toys for 4 year old besides a swing set
A bounce house or a sand box.
The bounce house takes less than 2 minutes to inflate and deflate. When it's in the carrying case, it's a bit cumbersome and heavy, but my DH usually takes it out of the garage. Or he'll leave it off to the side for me to assemble.
My son will spend hours playing in his sand box too.
We just ordered a water slide, but we haven't gotten it yet. I'm sure my DS will love it. But it will require more work than the bounce house since it has to be fully dry before putting it away. I can see that being a big pain.
