Favorite Parmesan Cheese
What is your favorite brand of parmesan cheese? Preferably one that comes already grated. I'm having a hard time finding one that is not too strong and not too mild. TIA!

if and only if I was not going to buy a hunk of cheese and take three seconds to grate some myself, I might consider something like this which can be found in the section with the hunks of cheese:
But that's a big IF

I always buy Parmigiano Reggiano by the piece from my local deli & have the deli guy grate it for me.

you are much better off buying a real piece of parmiggiano and taking the 30 seconds to grate it yourself.

The Locatelli is REALLY good!
I usually just buy the one in the green jar...I think its kraft or something. Not the best but its cheaper lol

the big bag of grated pecorino romano from costco is awesome... so yummy. but since we belong to BJ's I get their big bag of grated pec romano... its really good too!
(coming from an italian family that is very picky about cheese)!

 me too...but my family is a bit of Parmigiano Reggiano cheese snobs...we come from the region in Italy so no subsitute will do

me too but I get pecorino romano. Also Italian markets often have containers of just grated cheese of your preference, if they don't ask them to grate it for you.
The pre packaged ones are  and they cost just as much.

I was going to say they weren't the same also. That being said, I LOVE Pecorino Romano. We buy the Locatelli brand as well.
eta: I literally love it and there are many times where I will just boil pasta, drain it, and douse it with PR cheese. No sauce, no butter, no oil. Just cheese. It's kinda amazing

I just make sure the label says Reggiano and get that.. I trust whatever it is that the pork store sells me - it's always delicious!
